According to a memo from Simo, maintaining separate platforms has led to a fragmentation of engineering resources, which slows down development and creates a lack of focus within the company. The urgency of this initiative was referred to internally as a “code red,” underscoring the necessity for a strategic overhaul amidst increasing market competition.
